Read one of your child’s favorite books aloud. Point to the words as you read, moving your finger underneath the text.
When your child sees you move your finger along as you read, she learns that text moves from left to right. She also sees that you read from the top of the page to the bottom. As you point to individual words, your child sees that each word is made up of letters. And, of course, reading aloud is always a good way to build your child’s oral language skills, too!
