Ask your child about an object. Use questions that start with wh: “What does a caterpillar become?” “Where do caterpillars live?”
Asking questions is a great way to start and continue a conversation with a child. Start by asking “what” questions—often these can be answered with one or two words. As your child builds his vocabulary, ask other wh questions: who, where, when, and why. Try this when you read a story together, too!
