Look through a book or magazine for words that start with the same letter as your child’s name. You could also look for words that start with other important letters, like M for Mom or D for Dad.
Look for other opportunities to point out important letters to your child throughout your daily routine. “The tire looks like an O, just like the first letter in your name, Olivia. “The moon looks like a C, C for Carl.” Being able to recognize the letters of the alphabet is an important skill for beginning readers.
