Rhyming Fun |
||
|
For all age children who need practice in phonemic awareness. Select a word such as hat that children recognize. Ask each child to think of a rhyming word for hat. You can accept nonsense words like dat, lat and wat when children pronounce them so they rhyme. Write the words on the board or chart paper so children can see that it is the beginning sound (initial phoneme) that changes each time.
