Michael states that he has "always been a voracious reader of books, newspapers, magazines and can''t imagine life without reading." He thought about becoming a tutor for years and finally contacted his local program, Hillsborough Literacy Council and became a volunteer tutor.

As a tutor, Michael has experienced the excitement of changing someone’s life in just a few hours a week. He says that tutoring has rewards far greater than he ever expected.
